03 Answers and one-line notes

# Answer One-line note
1 332 The middle number is 999 ÷ 3 = 333, so the smallest is 332.
2 524 Tens: 5 − 3 = 2; ones: 2 × 2 = 4, so the number is 524.
3 594 852 − 258 = 594.
4 258 836 − 578 = 258.
5 583 books Afternoon: 268 + 47 = 315; whole day: 268 + 315 = 583.
6 640 486 + 354 = 840, then 840 − 200 = 640.
7 100 One more hundred means 100 more.
8 850 100, 350, 600, 850: the fourth number is 850.
9 899 999 − 100 = 899.
10 278 674 − 400 = 274, then add 4 back: 278.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
