Tutor Recruitment

You teach. Enrolment, matching and admin are handled by TutorZone. One-to-one, online, all 18 districts of Hong Kong.

Register as a tutor

One-to-one

Every case is a single student, so the pace follows that student instead of a mixed class.

Online

Lessons run online, so you and the student each work from a convenient location while we coordinate the times.

All 18 districts

Matching covers all 18 districts across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, filtered by subject, level, district and time.

01 You only teach

TutorZone brings the right student to you. The first enquiry from a parent, checking what the student needs, arranging times and following up after the first lesson are all handled by the platform. By the time a case reaches you, the year level, subject, goal and available lesson times are already confirmed, so you can go straight into preparation.

You are not asked to market yourself, recruit students, or untangle timetable clashes.

02 What the platform does for you

Step Handled by TutorZone What you receive
Enrolment Parent enquiries from the website, our study guides and mock papers, and WhatsApp are all handled centrally A case with the student profile already checked
Matching Matched on four criteria: subject, year level, district and available hours A short case brief with the student profile and goal
Scheduling Coordinating both sides, rescheduling and leave Confirmed lesson times
Follow-up Tracking progress after lessons start and liaising with the parent You simply report how the lesson went

Will TutorZone find students for me?

Yes. Parent enquiries are handled and screened centrally, so you never have to look for students or answer first-contact messages yourself.

03 What you get: 336 pages of trilingual lesson guides

TutorZone has written 336 pages of tutor preparation guides, one per chapter per subject, in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and English. Each chapter has ten sections: prior knowledge, lesson flow, a script you can read aloud, worked examples, the mistakes students actually make, correction lines, an exit check, homework suggestions, the link to the next chapter, and one line to give the parent.

The guides are public on the site, so you can follow them directly or adapt them to the student in front of you.

See all tutor preparation guides

Do I need to buy textbooks for these guides?

No. The 336 pages already include the explanation script, worked examples and common mistakes for each chapter, ready to use and adjust to the student.

04 What you get: 215 mock papers

TutorZone has published 215 mock papers covering DSE, IB, IGCSE, A-Level and AP, all with answers and marking points. When a topic is taught, you can pull the matching paper straight away instead of hunting for questions.

Curriculum How the papers are used
DSE Mapped to topics and question types, for timing and answer structure
IB Mapped to chapters, for method questions and assessment language
IGCSE, A-Level, AP Mapped to the syllabus, filling question types schools under-practise

Do the mock papers come with answers?

Yes. Every paper includes answers and marking points, so you can mark in the lesson or set the paper as a follow-up check.

05 Which subjects you can teach

From primary to senior secondary, local curriculum to international, matching follows the subjects you register:

  • Primary: Chinese, English, Maths, General Studies
  • DSE: Chinese, English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, History, Geography, ICT and other main subjects
  • International: IB, IGCSE, A-Level and AP subjects
  • Others: music (instrument and theory), physical education

List your strongest subjects and year levels on the form; matching treats them as the first criterion.

06 Lesson format: one-to-one, online, all 18 districts

Every case is one-to-one: one tutor, one student. Lessons run mainly online, so both sides work from a convenient location, and district matching covers all 18 districts of Hong Kong.

The advantage of one-to-one is pace: if a topic is not secure you stay on it, and if it is secure you go deeper immediately, without waiting for a class.

Do I have to teach at the student’s home?

No. Cases are one-to-one and run online, and district matching covers all 18 districts of Hong Kong.

07 Registering in three steps

Step What you do Notes
1 Fill in the form Enter your subjects, year levels, available hours and qualifications About five minutes
2 Details checked TutorZone checks your details and may ask one or two follow-up questions You are told the outcome
3 Contacted only for a suitable case We contact you when a matching case comes up No suitable case means no messages

Will I definitely get a case after registering?

Not necessarily. We contact you only when a suitable case comes up, and we do not message you when there is none.

08 Frequently asked questions

What do I need to become a TutorZone tutor?

Three things matter most: solid subject knowledge, the ability to explain in language the student understands, and reliability. Qualifications and teaching experience are taken into account but are not the only criteria.

Which subjects can I teach?

Primary Chinese, English, Maths and General Studies; the main DSE subjects; IB, IGCSE, A-Level and AP subjects; music (instrument and theory) and physical education are also accepted. State your strongest subjects and year levels on the form.

Are the hours flexible?

Yes. You set your available hours when you register, and matching only happens inside those hours. We do not push cases into time you do not have.

Can university students register?

Yes. Students currently studying a university programme are welcome, and are often a good fit for primary and junior secondary cases.

How do I start?

Fill in the registration form. We check your details and contact you only when a suitable case comes up. You do not need to submit documents up front or find students yourself.

09 Register now

Fill in the form once and leave the matching to us. We contact you only when a suitable case comes up, so all you have to do is teach.

Register as a tutor

TutorZone arranges one-to-one tuition only. Registration details are used for matching and contact, nothing else. The lesson guides and mock papers are written by the TutorZone team and are original, not past papers from any school.
