# Answer One-line note
1 $20 $12 + $8 = $20, so the total is $20.
2 $17 $35 − $18 = $17, so the new price is $17.
3 $12 $4 × 3 = $12, so 3 pencils cost $12.
4 $23 $50 − $27 = $23, so the change is $23.
5 $10 $6.50 + $3.50 = $10, so the total is $10.
6 $11.50 $20 − $8.50 = $11.50, so the change is $11.50.
7 $10 $2 × 5 = $10, so five $2 coins are worth $10.
8 $4 $1.20 + $2.80 = $4, so the total is $4.
9 $51 51 is greater than 15, so $51 is larger.
10 $36 $100 − $64 = $36: borrow one ten from the hundreds, so not $46.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
