03 Answers and one-line notes

# Answer One-line note
1 $26.60 $7.80 × 3 = $23.40, and $50 − $23.40 = $26.60.
2 $61.25 $200 − $138.75 = $61.25, so the change is $61.25.
3 $35 $16.25 × 4 = $65, and $100 − $65 = $35.
4 $26.20 $5.50 × 2 + $12.80 = $23.80, and $50 − $23.80 = $26.20.
5 876 coins 10 cents is $0.10, and $87.60 ÷ $0.10 = 876, so 876 coins.
6 $8.60 $13.80 × 3 = $41.40, and $50 − $41.40 = $8.60.
7 $72.30 $45.60 − $18.90 = $26.70, and $45.60 + $26.70 = $72.30.
8 $41.50 $9.75 × 6 = $58.50, and $100 − $58.50 = $41.50.
9 $7 $3.50 × 30 = $105, and $105 − $98 = $7.
10 $53.10 $80 − $26.90 = $53.10 after borrowing in both the units and the cents, not $54.10.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
