03 Answers and one-line notes

# Answer One-line note
1 $23 $14 + $9 = $23, so the total is $23.
2 $29 $48 − $19 = $29, so the new price is $29.
3 $24 $6 × 4 = $24, so 4 buns cost $24.
4 $32 $100 − $68 = $32, so the change is $32.
5 $20 $7.50 + $12.50 = $20, so the total is $20.
6 $31.5 $50 − $18.50 = $31.50, so the change is $31.50.
7 $24 $5 × 4 = $20 and $2 × 2 = $4, so $20 + $4 = $24.
8 $10 $3.60 + $4.40 = $8 and $8 + $2 = $10, so the total is $10.
9 $0.63 $2.70 − $2.07 = $0.63, so the difference is $0.63.
10 $14 $100 − $86 = $14: borrow one ten from the hundreds, so not $24.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
