03 Answers and one-line notes

# Answer One-line note
1 350 cm 1 m = 100 cm, so 3.5 x 100 = 350 cm.
2 2000 m 1 km = 1000 m, so 2 x 1000 = 2000 m.
3 4.5 km 1000 m = 1 km, so 4500 / 1000 = 4.5 km.
4 2400 g 1 kg = 1000 g, so 2.4 x 1000 = 2400 g.
5 3 L 1000 mL = 1 L, so 3000 / 1000 = 3 L.
6 50 mm 1 cm = 10 mm, so 5 x 10 = 50 mm.
7 1200 mL 1 L = 1000 mL, so 1.2 x 1000 = 1200 mL.
8 7000 kg 1 tonne = 1000 kg, so 7 x 1000 = 7000 kg.
9 8.5 kg 1000 g = 1 kg, so 8500 / 1000 = 8.5 kg.
10 600 cm Going from metres to centimetres multiplies by 100, not 10: 6 x 100 = 600 cm.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
