03 Answers and one-line notes

# Answer One-line note
1 3.25 km 850 m = 0.85 km, and 2.4 + 0.85 = 3.25 km.
2 3250 mL 3 x 1000 + 250 = 3250 mL.
3 4500 m 4 x 1000 + 500 = 4500 m.
4 850 kg 1.2 tonnes = 1200 kg, and 1200 – 350 = 850 kg.
5 650 mL Convert to 3250 mL first, then 3250 / 5 = 650 mL.
6 105 cm 1.5 m = 150 cm, and 150 – 45 = 105 cm.
7 30000 g 7.5 x 4 = 30 kg, and 30 x 1000 = 30000 g.
8 2 m 80 cm = 0.8 m, and 0.8 + 1.2 = 2 m.
9 750 g 6 kg = 6000 g, and 6000 / 8 = 750 g.
10 3200 m 1 km = 1000 m, so 3.2 x 1000 = 3200 m, not 320 m.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
