Primary English: Passive Voice Mistake Review (10 Questions)
The fourth paper reviews the mistakes: ten items gather the traps from the first three papers, seven gap fills on is and was, will be, has been, must be, the irregular participle sung and by for the agent, plus three corrections on broke, wrote and is cleaning.
Quick answer Ask two things first: is the subject doing or receiving the action, then let the tense fix the be verb (am, is, are, was, were, will be, has been, must be). After be always comes a past participle, and irregular verbs need their third form: sing to sung, write to written, break to broken. Use by only when the doer is named.

03 Answers and one-line notes
| # | Answer | One-line note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | is | The subject is singular, so the present passive takes is plus the past participle. |
| 2 | was | Yesterday puts the sentence in the past, and a singular subject takes was. |
| 3 | will | The future passive is will be plus a past participle. |
| 4 | been | The present perfect passive is has been plus a past participle. |
| 5 | sung | The past participle of sing is the irregular sung, not the past tense sang. |
| 6 | be | A modal takes be plus a past participle, so must be signed. |
| 7 | by | A passive sentence names the doer after by. |
| 8 | The window is broken by the boy. Broke is the past tense, while the passive needs the past participle broken. | After be comes a past participle, and broke is the past tense. |
| 9 | The letter was written by Mary. The past participle of write is written, not wrote. | Irregular verbs need the third form: write, wrote, written. |
| 10 | The room is cleaned every day. The passive needs the past participle cleaned, while is cleaning is an active continuous form. | The room receives the action, so it is cleaned, not is cleaning. |
04 What to do after marking
- After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
- Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
- Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
