Primary English: Present Perfect Basics (10 Questions)
The first paper starts from the basics of have and has with a past participle: sharing out for and since, placing already and yet, using ever for experience and just in the middle, and choosing has or have from the subject. All ten items are single-sentence gap fills with the participle and a one-line note given in the answers.
Quick answer Subjects I, we, they and plurals take have, while he, she, it and singular nouns take has; for takes a length of time such as six years and since takes a starting point such as Monday; already suits positive sentences and yet suits negatives and questions, with both sitting after the auxiliary or at the end; the participle of be is been, of come is come, and try changes y to i before ed.

03 Answers and one-line notes
| # | Answer | One-line note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | have lived | Use have with I and the past participle lived, because for introduces a period of time. |
| 2 | has finished | My sister is third person singular, so take has, and already sits after it. |
| 3 | have not seen | A negative takes have not plus the participle seen, with yet at the end. |
| 4 | Have / been | A question puts Have first, ever asks about experience, and the participle of be is been. |
| 5 | has been | Since marks the starting point, and He takes has. |
| 6 | have known | Know is a state verb, so the present perfect shows a state lasting until now. |
| 7 | has just arrived | Just goes between has and the past participle. |
| 8 | have already eaten | Already belongs in positive sentences, after have and before the participle. |
| 9 | has not come | The bus counts as singular so it takes has not, and the participle of come is still come. |
| 10 | have been | Two subjects are plural so take have, and since gives the starting point. |
04 What to do after marking
- After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
- Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
- Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
