TutorZone (hereinafter referred to as “the Platform” or “we”) values and is committed to protecting the privacy of our tutors’ personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect the personal data you provide as a tutor, as well as the rights you may enjoy under the applicable privacy protection principles.

To provide tutor matching, lesson scheduling and related services, we may collect the following personal data from you:

Basic information: name, gender, contact phone number, WhatsApp number, email address and district of residence.

Professional and academic information: educational qualifications, academic results, public examination results, teaching experience, subjects you can teach, grade levels you can teach, language proficiency, areas of expertise, available teaching hours and district preferences.

Identity verification information: photographs, student ID, identity documents, proof of academic qualifications, proof of academic results, or other documents used to verify your identity and eligibility.

Financial information: payment methods, or other information related to the payment of tutor fees.

Other information: information you provide when communicating with the Platform, or other information needed to complete matching, handle enquiries, follow up on lesson arrangements and improve service quality.

2. Purpose of personal data

We collect and use your personal data primarily for the following purposes:

To process tutor registration and to create and manage your tutor profile.

To verify your identity, academic qualifications, teaching credentials and related background information.

To match tutors according to the needs of students or parents.

To contact you regarding tutoring cases and to arrange, coordinate and manage lesson times, locations, formats and other related matters.

To handle tutor fees, administrative matters, and payment or refund arrangements.

To improve the Platform’s services and to handle enquiries, complaints, disputes or quality monitoring.

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, law-enforcement requirements or other compliance needs.

To facilitate tutoring matching, lesson arrangements and communication between the parties, the Platform may, after a successful match or where it is reasonably necessary to facilitate a match, disclose the tutor’s contact information — including phone number, WhatsApp number or other means of contact — to the relevant parents/students, but only for purposes of tutoring matching, lesson arrangements, lesson coordination and other uses directly related to the relevant services.

By submitting your personal data to the Platform and completing registration, you acknowledge and agree that the Platform may process your personal data for the above purposes, including providing your contact information to the relevant parents/students where necessary for direct contact and tutoring arrangements.

3. Your rights

Under the applicable personal data protection principles, you have the following rights in respect of the personal data held by the Platform:

To request access to whether we hold your personal data and to obtain a copy of it.

To request correction of personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated.

To request, where applicable, that we cease using or delete your personal data.

To object, where applicable, to certain ways of processing your data, or to request restrictions on such processing.

4. Data retention and security

Service providers: including payment processors, technical support providers, website or platform operation service providers, and other partners who assist us in providing services. Such parties may use the information only to the extent necessary to perform their functions.

Legal or security needs: where required by law, court order or regulatory requirement, or where it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety or interests of the Platform, tutors, parents, students or other persons, we may disclose the information.

6. Tutor’s consent and responsibilities

When you register as a tutor on the Platform and submit your personal data, you confirm that the information you provide is true, accurate and up to date, and you agree that the Platform may collect, use, store and disclose your personal data in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

If you do not wish the Platform to provide certain means of contact to parents/students, you should notify the Platform at the time of registration or as soon as possible thereafter. However, you understand that failing to provide contactable information may affect matching arrangements, lesson coordination or the Platform’s ability to provide services to you.

The Platform may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in response to changes in laws and regulations, regulatory requirements, business operations or service content. The updated version will be published on the Platform and will take effect upon publication.
