03 Answers and one-line notes

# Answer One-line note
1 1 1/5 Flip 2/3 to 3/2: 4/5 × 3/2 = 12/10 = 1 1/5.
2 1/6 Cancel first: 3 with 9 and 4 with 8, leaving 1/6.
3 2 Turn both into improper fractions: 5/2 ÷ 5/4 = 5/2 × 4/5 = 2.
4 8 A whole number divided by a fraction: 6 × 4/3 = 8.
5 3/5 Take the first two steps: 5/6 × 12/10 = 1, then × 3/5.
6 2 pieces Divide in the same unit: 3/4 ÷ 3/8 = 3/4 × 8/3 = 2.
7 2/15 L Dividing by 6 is multiplying by 1/6: 4/5 × 1/6 = 2/15.
8 60 pages The remaining 36 pages are 3/5 of the book: 36 ÷ 3/5 = 60.
9 2/9 of 3/4 is larger (1/6 > 5/36) Evaluate both: 6/36 against 5/36 — compare only on a common denominator.
10 6 Flip only the divisor: 4/3 × 9/2 = 36/6 = 6.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
