# Answer One-line note
1 wider An adjective ending in e simply adds r.
2 hotter A short vowel before a final consonant doubles the consonant.
3 tallest The superlative takes the and covers the whole class.
4 worse Bad has the irregular comparative worse.
5 more difficult A three-syllable adjective takes more.
6 best Good has the irregular superlative best.
7 neater Neat is one syllable, so it takes er.
8 more comfortable Comfortable has three or more syllables and takes more.
9 heaviest Comparing three things needs the superlative, and heavy drops y.
10 This bag is heavier than that one. Never use more together with er; keep one marker only.

04 What to do after marking

  • After marking, redo only the wrong items and write down which step went wrong (formula, unit, or misread number).
  • Repeat the same item two days later; move to the next paper only when both attempts are correct.
  • Parents only need the answer and note columns; there is no need to explain every item.
